Misja Fundacji

Nangzhig Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promoting and preservation of the Bon tradition, and more broadly – Tibetan cultural heritage. Nangzhig, as the main and largest Bon monastery in Tibet, located in the region of Amdo Ngawa, which brings together hundreds of monks from all over the country, who sometimes have traveled long distances of challenging and arduous roads to study the sacred teachings of Bon. Nangzhig Monastery Foundation invites all willing to cooperate. Financial support allows to join us in the noble purpose of creating suitable conditions of life for many exceptional monks studying and living in largest Bon monastery in Tibet and to support them in the quest to explore and preserve the priceless teachings of Yungdrung Bon. This indigenous religion of Tibet, offers a way for positive changes in your life so that it becomes possible to find inner tranquility, peace and compassion in the realities of today’s world.
An additional objective is to establish a communication platform between the Monastery and the Western society in order to present this unique and authentic knowledge and bring centuries-old tradition that contains in itself the teaching of resting in open awareness and experience the mind nature.

Due to a deteriorating economical situation in the region and an increasing number of monks living in the monastery, local residents who have been supporting the monastic community for hundreds of years are no longer equal to this noble but difficult task. It has become a necessity for bonpo communities and all good people scattered around the world to show their support for them by subsidizing the purchase of food, medicine and clothing for ever growing community of Nangzhig monastery. Chapur Rinpoche has personally together with bon practitioners and sponsors obliged to provide for all of the monks living in the monastery for the next three years.

A supplementary goal is to create a communicational platform between the monastery and the western culture, which on one hand will introduce this unique and authentic wisdom and bring closer this ancient tradition which contains extraordinary teachings of ‘abiding in conscious presence’ and experiencing the ‘nature of mind’, and on the other, create an invaluable opportunity to experience bon teachings in action so that their beautiful and practical dimension can be revealed and bring about solace and comfort to all distressed and weakened regions of our souls and provide healing and wisdom to all those who turn to it for help or to those who simply are looking for meaning in life.
